The Carn Brea Cross
The Carn Brea Easter Cross dates back to 1976, when a member of our congregation from Lanner had the idea to place a large cross on the hilltop.
Standing around 30 feet tall and positioned more than 700 feet above sea level, this Easter tradition has become a symbol to all the people of Redruth that the Cross still stands, the Cross still towers.

Each year, as the cross is raised above the town, it serves as a visible reminder of the hope at the heart of The Gospel message—that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is forgiveness, restoration, and new life available to all.

In a world where faith is often kept quiet or pushed aside, the cross on Carn Brea stands unashamedly, pointing beyond itself to the greatest act of love in history.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…” — Romans 1:16

The Cross has been featured on many websites and in news articles over the years. In 2026, as we marked its 50th anniversary, we were joined by the BBC, who filmed the occasion for the Songs of Praise programme, which aired on Easter Sunday 2026.
